Not the Steve Carrell and Tina Fey kind but guns were involved. So this past weekend the hubby and I had date night. It was awesome! We took Pumpkin to my moms and then we went to the range followed by dinner. But for the purpose of this post we'll focus on the trip to the range (Sharpshooter's in Lorton). This trip we only took my Glock 19 Gen 4 and his Kahr CW .45. I wanted to put a few more rounds through the Glock and DH (dear husband) decided I needed to be put through some failure to fire and double feed drills. So he randomly loaded the Kahr with snap caps (dummy rounds) and put the gun in my hand and said shoot. So shoot I did. First round, no go. Tap, Rack, Reassess. Still nothing. So I had to lock the slide to the rear and release the mag to clear the malfunction. He didn't think I remembered. I had a blast! He was proud of having the woman who could shoot (we saw quite a few other couples where the men were teaching). I felt like I was being put through the pre-qual to become a pistol instructor. But it was an awesome experience and something I look forward to doing again (hint, hint Pookie).
